The scribe has signed to pen "The Lucky One," an adaptation of the most recent Nicholas Sparks novel that's been set up at Warner Bros.
Di Novi Pictures is producing the romantic drama, which tells the story of a marine in Iraq who, for good luck, carries the photograph of a woman he has never met, then unearths a raft of secrets when he returns to the U.S. and sets out to find her.
Fetters, repped by Endeavor and Underground Management, also is penning "Memoirs," the Summit relationship drama that's a potential starring vehicle for Robert Pattinson.
Sparks has had a strong run in Hollywood with such adaptations as "The Notebook" and "Message in a Bottle" earning $81 million and $52 million, respectively. His most recent pic, "Nights in Rodanthe," generated a more modest $42 million.
The next Sparks work to hit the big screen is "Dear John," which Lasse Hallstrom is directing for Relativity and Screen Gems. It's set for release early next year.
