FICCI FRAMES 2012: MPAA's Chris Dodd to Give Welcome Address at Indian Entertainment Industry Event
The annual confab's 13th edition will be held in Mumbai from 14-16 March with Japan as partner country.
New Delhi – The 13th FICCI FRAMES conference – organized by industry body Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry – will launch with a welcome address by Motion Picture Association of America chairman and CEO Chris Dodd. This will be the first time the former US Senator will visit India with FICCI FRAMES taking place from 14-16 March at Mumbai's Renaissance Hotel.
The annual entertainment industry confab features a host of events including workshops while this year's partner country is Japan. As in years past, FICCI FRAMES features a lineup of leading international and Indian industry executives and talent which last year saw the likes of Hugh Jackman, James Murdoch and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
This year's masterclass schedule will include sessions by Oscar winning director Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy), visual effects Oscar winner Harvey Lowry (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) and award-winning editor Mark Goldblatt (Terminator, True Lies, Return of the Planet of the Apes). Scriptwriting workshops will feature Michael Goldenberg (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), Wesley Strick (Cape Fear) and Guillermo Arriaga (Amores Perros), among others. Also featured is a daylong screenwriting workshop by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
Presentations by leading executives include Discovery Networks CEO Mark Hollinger, Star India CEO Uday Shankar, Zee Networks CEO and MD Puneet Goenka and Fox International Channels and National Geographic Channels International president and CEO Hernan Lopez, among others.
With Japan as partner country, the Japanese delegation includes animation players such as Polygon Pictures Inc president and CEO Shuzo John Shiota and gaming companies such as Capcom Co representative director and president and COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto and DeNA Asia Pacific Holdings MD Tetsuya Mori, among others.
A first for this year's event will be the launch of the FICCI FRAMES Market as a networking platform to buy, sell and distribute entertainment content across various formats, with participants including leading studios such as Yash Raj Films, Fox Star Studios, Eros International, UTV Motion Pictures, Shemaroo and the Film Exporters Association Of India.
