On her website, Fawkes describes herself as a "California girl" who has "seen the world thanks to the military," a lover of hard liquor and motorcycles and a writer of stories about "alpha men and the women they adore."

She  self-published the first four installments of the story as ebooks, ranging in length from 28-52 pages. The initial installment was priced at .99¢ and the next three for $2.99.

The books have appeared on USA Today's top-150 bestselling books list (Aug. 5 and July 28, topping out at no. 85 and on Amazon's list of top-100 selling ebooks. The first installment is currently no. 3 on Amazon's fiction erotica list and no. 37 on its romanace list.

St. Martin's will publish the fifth and final installment as an ebook in September with a print book to follow.
