Film, AV jobs up in Ile-de-France
EmptyPARIS -- Employment in the Ile-de-France region's film and audiovisual industry rose a slow but steady 2% in 2006, according to a study conducted by the region's film commission and market research group Audiens.
About 115,000 people worked in film or audiovisual industry trades in the region encompassing Paris and its suburbs, out of 138,000 in all of France.
Full-time workers represented 13% of employees in 2006, and more than 1,900 full-time positions have been created in the region over the past four years, according to the IDF Film Commission's director Olivier Rene-Veillon and Audiens director Philippe Degardin.
"The Ile-de-France region confirms the prominent place it holds in both Europe and on an international level in the domain of audiovisual and film production," the IDF Film Commission said.
