Cheadle has Spirit

Don Cheadle will receive the Spirit of Independence Award on June 29 at the Los Angeles Film Festival's awards ceremony. Previous winners of the award include George Clooney, Charlize Theron and Clint Eastwood.

Honor for DeLoach

Fox Searchlight senior vp Sheila DeLoach is set to be feted tonight in New York at an awards gala hosted by the Queens chapter of Variety the Children's Charity. She will be honored with the Sala M. Hassanein Humanitarian Award at the 57th annual event.

Career nod for Limato

Ed Limato will be awarded the Ischia Art Legend career achievement prize at the Italian island's sixth annual Global Film and Music Fest in July. Limato recently landed at WMA after a long tenure at ICM.

AMPAS doles out cash
