EmptySMITH HAS IDEALOGY
Former Platinum Dunes development exec Matt Smith has been named senior production executive for Idealogy, Sean Bailey's Disney-based banner. He will oversee production and development and manage the company's creative department. Smith, who brought in the recently set-up remake of "Valley Girl," will oversee the company's slate that includes "Liberty," "Hexum" and "Agent Boomerang."
NEW HOME FOR SUDDLESON
Veteran entertainment transactional attorney Ken Suddleson has joined Wildman Harrold to head the Chicago-based firm's new Los Angeles office, focusing on leading the media and entertainment practice for the firm. Suddleson moves to Wildman from Foley & Lardner, where he chaired its media and entertainment practice.
Here! Films has acquired North American rights to "Tru Loved," L.A. Outfest's closing-night film. "Loved" will be released theatrically in the fall by Here! sister company Regent Releasing.
In its efforts to help members expand into global markets, the Producers Guild of America has formed a formal alliance with its counterpart in Spain, the Spanish Producers Guild. The alliance gives PGA members an edge in co-production opportunities in Spain as well as job opportunities.
