CRAWFORD CHATS UP CAA

Chace Crawford, one the breakout stars of the CW's "Gossip Girl," has signed with CAA for representation. Crawford was at ICM but started taking meetings this week. The actor, who just won a Teen Choice Award, appeared in the 2006 Renny Harlin film "The Covenant" and has a couple of indies in the can.

CONVERSATION TIME

Kevin Smith, Robert Greenwald and SnagFilms.com CEO Rick Allen will headline "Conversations With" talks during IFP's 30th annual Independent Film Week. The daily events will be held Sept. 14-19 at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan.

NOD FOR SCHAMUS

Focus CEO James Schamus will receive the ninth annual Woodstock Film Festival's Trailblazer Award. The exec will be honored for his work at the studio, as a film professor at Columbia University and as a longtime screenwriter and producer. Schamus, who wrote the script for Ang Lee's upcoming biopic "Taking Woodstock," will accept the award Oct. 4 at the Upstate New York event.

ONE MORE FOR ONEXONE

International health issue charity ONEXONE is opening its first U.S. office in Los Angeles, which will put on an inaugural fundraiser in San Francisco on Oct. 23 that will be hosted by Matt Damon and Wyclef Jean. "The End of Poverty" author Jeffrey Sachs will be a special guest.
