Paramount Pictures has acquired Screenlife, creator of the "Scene It?" gaming franchise. The Viacom-owned studio snapped up the Seattle-based company with an eye toward pushing deeper into digital content initiatives. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

DIRECTORS U.K. in DEAL

Directors U.K. has struck an agreement with the Broadcasting Entertainment Cinematograph and Theatre Union for the repping of British screen directors. Under the deal, BECTU acknowledges the right of Directors U.K. to negotiate fees, terms and conditions with U.K. employers on behalf of film and television directors. At the same time, Directors U.K. acknowledges BECTU's status as the independent trade union repping workers at large in the film and television industries.

TRIO OF ALLIANCES

Alliance Films has closed three multiyear distribution agreements, inking deals with financiers Relativity Media, Grosvenor Park and Freestyle Releasing. The three partnerships expand on a slate of titles already supplied by Focus Features, the Weinstein Co., Overture Films and Remstar.
