JONES, STREISAND AMONG KENNEDY HONOreeS

George Jones, Barbra Streisand and the Who's Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey will receive the Kennedy Center Honors for 2008. Morgan Freeman and Twyla Tharp are also on the list. Performers from New York, Hollywood, Nashville and the arts capitals of the world will salute the 2008 honorees Dec. 7 on the Kennedy Center Opera House stage. The show will be taped for broadcast on CBS.

ASC REMEMBERS STONE

The American Society of Cinematographers has dedicated its 2009 Heritage Award to the memory of the late Burton "Bud" Stone, who was president of Deluxe Laboratories for 18 years. The award will be presented to one or more recipients during the 23rd annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards on Feb. 15 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Century City.

VALLEy on 'ROUTE 30'

John Putch's comedy "Route 30" will kick off the eighth annual Valley Film Festival, which runs Sept. 24-28 at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood.

VES NOD FOR TIPPETT

Tippett Studio founder and two-time Oscar winner Phil Tippett will be honored with the George Melies Award for Artistic Excellence at the Visual Effects Society's seventh annual VES Awards on Feb. 21 at the Century Plaza in Century City.
