'BLIND' LOOKS TO OSCARS

The Slovak Film and Television Academy said that "Blind Loves," directed by Juraj Lehotsky, will represent the country in the foreign-language Oscar race. "Blind," a feature-length documentary on the themes of love and happiness, took part in the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes this year. Distribution rights to the film have been sold to France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Poland.

WOODSTOCK WINNERS

The ninth annual Woodstock Film Festival, which wrapped Sunday in Woodstock, N.Y., presented its Lee Marvin Best Feature Narrative Award to Sean Baker's "Prince of Broadway" and its best documentary feature award to Jeremiah Zagar's "In a Dream."

SPEAKERS SEEING 3-D

DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg and Fox Sports Television Group chairman and CEO David Hill will serve as keynote speakers at the 3-D Entertainment Summit to be held on Dec. 2 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City.

'FIRAAQ' OPENS FEST

The fifth annual 2008 South Asian International Film Festival, which kicks off Oct. 22 in New York, will open with writer-director Nandita Das' "Firaaq" and an opening-night gala at the Ziegfeld Theatre at 141 W. 54th St. The festival runs through Oct. 28.
