A poll of American attitudes on religion and Hollywood, commissioned by the Anti-Defamation League, found that 59% of Americans agree that "the people who run the TV networks and the major movie studios do not share the religious and moral values of most Americans." Of those surveyed, 43% held the view that Hollywood and the national media are waging an organized campaign to "weaken the influence of religious values in this country."
PACACHA UPPED AT PHE
Marguerite Pacacha has been promoted to exec vp and general counsel at Paramount Home Entertainment. Her responsibilities will include managing business and legal affairs for PHE, including acquisitions, marketing, sales and distribution, co-productions and operations. Pacacha has been with the company since 2000.
The 11th annual Method Fest film festival, set for March 26-April 2 in Calabasas, Calif., has begun soliciting submissions. The early submission deadline is Dec. 1, and the late entry deadline is Jan. 31.
ROM ADDS TO DUTIES
Domenic Rom, COO of PostWorks' film lab, has been given the additional role of senior vp and GM of postproduction services for the company's main post facility in Manhattan. Bicoastal PostWorks' lab also is in New York. Rom's new responsibilities include managing operational aspects related to telecine, color correction, online, digital intermediate, digital media, duplication and fulfillment.
