TOAST TO THE IRISH

Irish actors Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Jonathan Rhys Meyers will be honored Feb. 19 at the fourth annual "Oscar Wilde: Honoring the Irish in Film" party at the Wilshire Ebell in Los Angeles. The event was created by the U.S.-Ireland Alliance, a nonprofit designed to foster ties between the countries.

JAKARTA CUTBACKS

The 10th Jakarta International Film Festival said it will halve its program to five days beginning Friday because of the global financial crisis and organizers' concerns that attendance could fall below the 55,000 guests seen in recent years. The festival will open with the Coen brothers' "Burn After Reading" and screen 100 films from 20 countries.

Satellite signals
