FILM4 Pushes Digital Initiatives Future
Channel 4 Movie Division Casts Net For Executive to Up its Digital Ante.
LONDON – Film4, Channel 4 Television’s feature film division, is creating an executive position to spearhead its digital initiatives under the brand banner Film4.0.
As part of its increased funding, Film4 is set to take a pioneering role in exploring the digital, online arena through the newly-created banner.
Its aim will be to discover talent and find fresh ways of making, marketing and distributing films and engaging new audiences online.
The new hire will report to senior commissioning editor Katherine Butler.
Channel 4 controller of film and drama Tessa Ross said: “We know that we’ve got lots to learn and hope that this will prove a groundbreaking opportunity, both to push boundaries with talent and reach audiences in new ways.”
