FilmL.A. appoints Paul Audley president
Replaces Steve MacDonald, who resigned in AprilFilm-permit organization FilmL.A. has appointed nonprofit veteran Paul Audley its new president.
The decision last week was announced Monday, Audley's first day on the job.
He replaces Steve MacDonald, who resigned in April. FilmL.A. CFO Michael Bennett served as acting president in the interim.
Audley had been Arizona state director of the San Francisco-based organization Trust for Public Land. A one-time politician and attorney, Audley was mayor of Fairfield, Conn., and deputy secretary of state in Connecticut.
"We are confident that Paul Audley will bring a new and innovative perspective to FilmL.A.," FilmL.A. chair Mel Kohn said. "His vast knowledge and extraordinary background will lead FilmL.A. to become an even more efficient, responsive and vital player in the Los Angles landscape."
Audley said he looks forward to serving FilmL.A.'s "diverse constituencies."
Formed in 1995, FilmL.A. processes permits for on-location films, TV and commercial shoots in Los Angeles and five nearby municipalities. The group also handles permitting for the Los Angeles and Burbank school districts and Angeles National Forest.
