Nusbaum has been a drama teacher for the past eight years at Talent Unlimited High School, a public performing arts high school on Manhattan's Upper East Side that serves students from all five boroughs of New York City.
When he was younger, Nusbaum went to school with J.C. Spink, one of the partners at management-production banner Benderspink. Busbaum wrote a script inspired by the lives of his students and when it came time to get it out there, turned to his old pal for representation.
Crease centers on a struggling lacrosse team and its die-hard community. It’s set in the Philadelphia suburbs where Spink and Nusbaum grew up. (Interesting side note: Spink and Nusbaum also went to the same school as The Goldbergs creator Adam Goldberg.)
Leef Entertainment is a Los ANgeles-based feature film production founded by Felix Lee. The company was involved in producing the drama Wild In Blue, a thriller starring Frank Cermak, Daveigh Chase, and Steve Railsback.
Leef hopes to go into production on Crease in summer 2015.
