Flixster, THR form alliance

Combined content will reach over 33 mil unique visitors

The Hollywood Reporter has struck a strategic alliance with Flixster that will combine their content capabilities for moviegoers and moviemakers alike (see press release).

First up for the companies is a co-production of the ultimate Internet destination during the film world's awards season. Awards Watch will be a co-branded section bringing together THR's editorial mix with Flixster's proprietary quizzes, voting features and community/user data. Launching in February, Awards Watch will be available at THR.com and Flixster.com, as well as mobile devices.

By combining forces, THR and Flixster will reach a combined footprint of over 33 million unique visitors that range from industry insiders to die-hard film fans. Flixster also brings to the table RottenTomatoes.com, which the company recently acquired.

Awards Watch offers breaking news, blogs, reviews and special reports devoted to all of the films on the radar during awards season, as well as photos and video of red-carpet premieres and more. The section is also stocked with its own Twitter feed, Oscar buzz tracker, news aggregation, awards season calendar and Awards Screening Guide.
