'Footloose' Soundtrack to Feature Blake Shelton, Victoria Justice

"The Voice" coach will put a country spin on Kenny Loggins' original song, while Julianne Hough, who stars in the Paramount remake, remains mysteriously absent from the album.
Flexing her acting muscle rather than her vocal cords, Julianne Hough will not make an appearance on the soundtrack for Paramount’s Footloose remake.
Atlantic Records and Warner Music Nashville have revealed the complete track listing for the film’s soundtrack, in which Blake Shelton puts a country twist on the title song, originally made famous by Kenny Loggins.
Hunter Hayes joins Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice for the film’s love theme, “Almost Paradise,” while Zac Brown, Cee Lo Green and The Smashing Pumpkins also contribute to the album. The 12-track record will be released on Sept. 27, featuring eight original songs and four remakes, including the aforementioned tracks, "Let's Hear it for the Boy" and "Holding Out for a Hero."
Hough, who plays Ariel Moore, did not lend her voice to any of the film’s tracks despite having a Mercury Nashville record deal under her belt. Her 2008 self-titled debut peaked at No. 1 on the US Country charts, while her sophomore effort, Wildfire, is yet to be released.
Staying true to the original film, Hough’s character does not sing. Still, the failure to enlist the lead actress and “Is That So Wrong” singer for any of the film's musical offerings remains mysterious.
Filling Kevin Bacon's shoes for the reboot is Kenny Wormald, while Dennis Quaid stars as John Lithgow's Rev. Shaw Moore. Footloose hits theaters on Oct. 14.
