"Mom" and "Mea Maxima Culpa" are among the programs being recognized for bringing awareness to social issues.

ABC Family's The Fosters, Showtime's The Big C: Hereafter, CBS' Mom and HBO's Vice are among the recipients of the 7th annual Television Academy Honors.

Showtime's Comedy Warriors: Healing Through Humor, HBO's Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God and Conde Nast/Glamour's Screw You Cancer round out the honorees. The TV Academy Honors spotlight programs that bring awareness to important and social issues.

The seven honorees will be celebrated starting the week of May 25 with daily content on the TV Academy's digital platforms and Yahoo TV. On Sunday, June 1, the recipients will be feted at an outdoor cocktail reception at the SLS Hotel's Garden Terrace in Beverly Hills from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will be led by returning host Dana Delany.

“The programs being honored this year are some of the most emotionally moving and socially powerful programs on television,” said TV Academy chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum. “As our industry evolves, it is exciting to see this type of smart and empowering content presented across such a wide variety of distribution platforms.”

The seven recipients were chosen by the TV Academy Honors Selection Committee, chaired by Lucia Gervino.
