Fox Home Entertainment to Supply NCR's Rental Kiosks With DVDs
"Knight and Day" will be the first film offered under the test arrangement with NCR's Blockbuster Express kiosks.
Fox Home Entertainment said Tuesday it has agreed to supply NCR’s Blockbuster Express dollar-rentals kiosks with the studio’s DVDs starting 28 days after discs’ general release.
Fox also has agreed to begin testing the more immediate offering of Fox titles at higher price points and only in select markets. Discs of Knight
and Day will be the first to be offered under the test arrangement with Blockbuster Express.
“This agreement supports our retail and rental strategy, while allowing us to continue to deliver the best available movies and television shows in the market to our consumers,” Fox exec vp-GM Simon Swart said.
NCR and Fox also agreed to begin selling Fox discs through Blockbuster Express’ kiosks and website on a test basis.
“This agreement with Fox and our ability to test gives our customers a choice when renting from us and gives them their must-see movies faster,
helping them to make every night a movie night,” NCR Entertainment vp-GM Justin Hotard said.
Fox also supplies DVDs to dollar-rentals leader Redbox primarily on a 28-day delayed basis.
