Fox International Launches Asian Talent Search for Korean Pop Fans

The show is co-produced by Fox, Korean broadcaster CJ Media, and entertainment production company Cube Entertainment.

HONG KONG -- Fox International Channels is launching original local television content production in talent hunt format with entertainment program tvN K-Pop Star Hunt in Korea.

The show is co-produced by Fox, Korean broadcaster CJ Media, and entertainment production company Cube Entertainment.

TvN K-Pop Star Hunt in Korea will debut exclusively on Korea’s tvN channel Star World and Channel [V] International, and CJ Media’s TV platform in Korea at the end of December 2011. An Asian answer to the American Idol program format has begun its first audition phase on August 15, where fans of Korean pop between the ages of 11 to 29 in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore and Thailand can enter the competition. The show will conclude with a live grand finale. K-pop artists will appear as mentors, judges, and performers.

Fox has previously produced local programs in China, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines.
