Fox Latin America inks LAPTV deal
Agreement for exclusive affiliate sales representativeMEXICO CITY -- Fox Latin American Channels said Tuesday that it has reached an agreement to become the exclusive affiliate sales representative for pay TV programmer LAPTV.
Atlanta-based Latin American Pay Television Service, known as LAPTV, operates and programs premium and basic channels. Its member companies include 20th Century Fox, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Paramount.
Under the distribution deal, LAPTV expects to boost the presence of such movie channels as Movie City and The Film Zone in Chile, Colombia and Central American markets.
LAPTV director Edgar Spielmann said the agreement provides a unique opportunity to expand its brands.
"Fox Latin American Channels has the most extensive pay TV distribution network in Latin America," he said.
Financial details were not disclosed.
