Fox marketing pioneer is its senior vp pick

Studio marketing and licensing industry veteran Michael Peikoff has been promoted to the position of senior vp, licensing and merchandising for 20th Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising.

Peikoff, who was a member of the original marketing team that helped launch Fox Broadcasting with hits like "The Simpsons," "21 Jump Street," and "Married With Children," has also worked at Sony Pictures and Warner Bros. in various licensing, marketing communications and business development executive roles.

His new role will be expanded to include management of all internal and external communications for the licensing division, as well as overseeing the company's retail marketing and licensed promotions initiatives in the United States.

Accordingly, Jeff Shapiro, vp retail marketing and Howard Nelson, vp worldwide promotion will report to Peikoff, Fox licensing and merchandising said.

"Michael has been an integral part of the success we've experienced in our Licensing and Merchandising division," said Elie Dekel, executive vp licensing and merchandising, to whom Peikoff will report. "His insight, strong relationships and tenacity have helped propel licensing programs for 'The Simpsons,' 'Family Guy' and 'Napoleon Dynamite,' among others, to new levels while also helping to launch new business development initiatives for the division. We're looking forward to more of the same results in the future."
