Fox, NBC execs trading places

After Thursday's big shake-up, there are more executive changes coming at Fox.

NBC vp drama Terence Carter is expected to join Fox as co-head of the drama department, sharing oversight of drama development with Fox vp drama Rachel Bendavid. Both are expected to report to exec vp Matt Cherniss.

They will replace Fox's head of drama, senior vp Laura Lancaster, who is expected to take over the vacant position of drama head at NBC, overseeing development and current for the network and sister studio UMS.

Carter has run NBC's drama department since the December ouster of executive vp drama Katie O'Connell. He oversees drama development and current at the network and UMS, whose operations are being folded into the network.

Carter's contract at NBC is up, and with Lancaster primed for the top drama job, he opted to head to Fox.

Lancaster has been close with NBC/UMS' new scripted programming president, Angela Bromstad, and when the top drama job at the newly merged network and studio was left vacant after the December shake-up, there was speculation Bromstad would lure Lancaster back to NBC when her contract was up in the spring.

Lancaster headed drama at UMS under Bromstad. She joined Fox in 2007. (partialdiff)
