The German pay-TV group picks up exclusive rights to some 90 titles, including ‘Divergent,’ ‘Nightcrawler,’ and the ‘Iron Man’ franchise

Sky Deutschland, the German pay-TV group controlled by Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox, has inked an exclusive deal to take German rights to some 90 feature films from Herbert Kloiber’s Tele-Munchen Group.

The deal, announced Thursday, will further bolster Sky’s film offerings in Germany as the channel looks to head off competitor Netflix, which launched in Germany just last week.

The TMG package includes rights to such upcoming features as Dan Gilroy’s Nightcrawler starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Vin Diesel-starrer The Last Witch Hunter and Ericson Core’s Point Break remake.

Among the other highlights are the first three Iron Man movies and YA hit Divergent and its sequel Insurgent.

The deal gives Sky exclusive pay-TV rights for the TMG titles both for its linear channel and its mobile and on-demand services in Germany.
