Fox says it wants a 'Revolution'
EmptyFox has greenlighted "Skyler's Revolution," a comedy/reality pilot presentation starring comedian Skyler Stone.
In pilot-casting news, Lucy Liu has been tapped to star in ABC's one-hour pilot "Cashmere Mafia," while James Brolin has signed on to star in ABC's untitled Rina Mimoun drama pilot.
Additionally, Aimee Garcia and Paul Campbell have been added to Fox's comedy pilot "Action News," Jessalyn Gilsig has joined Fox's drama pilot "The Apostles," Kathleen Rose Perkins has been added to ABC's untitled Victoria Pile comedy pilot, Kym Whitley has joined ABC's untitled Sachs/Judah comedy pilot, and Eddie Matos has come aboard CBS' untitled Cynthia Cidre drama pilot.
"Revolution," from Warner Horizon TV and McG's Wonderland Sound and Vision, is described as a comedy/prank hybrid in the vein of MTV's "Punk'd." Stone created the show and is executive producing with McG and Trip Taylor. Peter Johnson is co-executive producing.
Stone, who starred in "Con," his own series on Comedy Central, is repped by Paradigm and Mosaic Media Group. Wonderland is repped by Endeavor.
"Cashmere," from Sony Pictures TV and Darren Star Prods., revolves around four successful female executives, one of them played by Liu. For Liu, who most recently did an arc on ABC's "Ugly Betty," "Cashmere" marks her first full-time series gig since "Ally McBeal."
The untitled Mimoun project, from Warner Bros. TV, centers on a successful Atlanta lawyer (Alyssa Milano) who returns to her messy family in Savannah, Ga., with her newborn son. Brolin will play the woman's father, a charismatic, larger-than-life family attorney. Brolin most recently co-starred in A&E's telefilm "Wedding Wars."
"Action News," from 20th TV, is an ensemble comedy set at a Buffalo TV station revolving around recently reunited co-anchors (Kelsey Grammer, Patricia Heaton). Garcia will play the team's weatherwoman. Campbell will play the news director. Garcia (Don Buchwald & Associates) co-stars on ABC's "George Lopez" this season.
"Apostles," from 20th TV, follows the off-duty lives of cops and their families. Gilsig will play an LAPD lieutenant in internal affairs. Gilsig (SDB Partners, Framework) just completed a multiepisode arc on NBC's "Heroes" and is set to reprise her role as Gina Russo on FX's "Nip/Tuck."
The untitled Pile project, from CBS Par TV and ABC TV Studio, follows the eccentric characters at a police precinct. Perkins (Innovative Artists, Trademark Talent) will play the resident psychologist in the homicide department.
The untitled Sachs/Judah project, from ABC TV Studio, follows the lives of co-workers at a top law firm. Whitley will play the team's paralegal.
The untitled Cidre project, from CBS Par TV, follows the lives of three generations of the Duques, a powerful Latin American family. Matos (Mark Schumacher Management) will play the family's youngest son.
