Fox Sports to Launch in Brazil
Fox International Channels also acquired full ownership of Spanish-language service Fox Pan American Sports.
MEXICO CITY -- Fox International Channels on Friday said it has acquired full ownership of Spanish-language programming service Fox Pan American Sports from HM Capital for an undisclosed amount.
FIC, as News Corp.-owned Fox International Channels is known, also announced that in February it will launch Fox Sports in Brazil. The Portuguese-language sports network will carry matches of the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana, two important tournaments watched in soccer-mad Brazil.
The company added that it has appointed Carlos Martinez as president of FIC Latin America, while Emiliano Saccone will assume the role of president of entertainment. Industry veteran Eduardo Zebini will step in as vp, managing editor Fox Sports in Brazil.
