Fox Star Studios Bows First South Indian Film

NEW DELHI -- Following its foray into mainstream Bollywood with Hindi titles My Name Is Khan and Dum Maro Dum, Fox Star Studios will bow its first South Indian release Engaeyum Eppothum (Anywhere Anytime) this Friday.
The Tamil language title is the first of a two movie co-production deal with leading south Indian filmmaker A R Murugadoss.
Written and directed by M Saravanan, Engaeyum Eppothum is described as a breezy romantic film with an ensemble cast including Jai, Anjali, Ananya and Sharvanand in the lead roles.
FSS will release the film in over 130 screens in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu in addition to other states followed by key international markets in two weeks.
Meanwhile Sony Pictures Entertainment India will release Hindi comedy by first-time director Praveen Kumar, Jo Dooba So Paar: It's Love In Bihar on Oct. 14. The film is a comedy about a young man who falls in love with an American girl, amidst the chaos and corruption in the eastern state of Bihar. The film was produced by Andraaz Productions and stars Anand Tiwari, Vinay Pathak, Rajat Kapoor, Sadiya Sadique and Pitobash.
As the first Hollywood studio to venture into Indian film production with 2007's Saawariya (Beloved), SPE has regularly released local titles mostly via acquisitions.
