NEW YORK -- Fox continued to have the hot hand in primetime Monday, winning in key measures with "Hell's Kitchen" and "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?"

"Hell's Kitchen" was the night's top show, with 8.8 million viewers and a 4.1 rating/12 share in the adult 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates released Tuesday by Nielsen Media Research. Fox won in the 9 p.m. hour in both measures with CBS' "Two and a Half Men" (8.7 million, 2.7/8) providing the only competition.

ABC saw its fortunes decline between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. with the "2007 CMA Music Festival" (6.5 million, 1.9/6), coming in fourth place in the last two hours of primetime and down slightly from last year's 2.1/6. But there was good news from NBC's "Age of Love" (5.5 million, 2.2/6), which improved from last week (4.5 million, 1.8/5).

Fox won 8 p.m. with "5th Grader" (8.5 million, 2.8/9), which easily defeated repeats on the other networks. A repeat "CSI: Miami" (7.9 million, 2.4/7) edged out "Dateline: NBC" (6.4 million, 2.3/7) as well as the last hour of the "CMA Music Festival."

Monday averages: CBS (6.9 million, 2.2/7); Fox (8.6 million, 3.5/11); ABC (6 million, 1.9/6); NBC (5.2 million, 2.0/6); and the CW (1.6 million, 0.7/2).
