Red-Band Trailer Debuts for Drafthouse Films’ ‘The FP’ (Video) (Warning: Language and Nudity)
A filthy clip premieres for Brandon and Jason Trost's futuristic adventure about rival gangs dancing for supremacy in Frasier Park.
Drafthouse Films premiered a new trailer Monday for The FP, Brandon and Jason Trost’s futuristic, tongue-in-cheek adventure. The red-band clip introduces viewers to a world where rival gangs compete for supremacy via a Dance Dance Revolution-style video game, and a young dancer goes in search of redemption after the death of his older brother.
Written and directed by the Trost brothers, The FP premiered at the 2011 South By Southwest Film Festival. The film was a family affair for the Trosts: former “Project Runway” contestant Sarah Trost served as the film’s costume designer, and their father Ron Trost co-produced the film and designed its special effects. Brandon Trost makes his feature directing debut after serving as cinematographer on Crank: High Voltage, MacGruber, and the upcoming Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
The FP is Drafthouse Films’ fourth release thus far, after 2010’s Four Lions, Oscar nominee Bullhead, and the forthcoming Comin’ At Ya! 3D. The distribution imprint is an offshoot of the Alamo Drafthouse, which earned national attention last year after turning an ejected guest’s complaint into an advertisement for the theater chain’s no-tolerance policy on talking or texting.
The film arrives in theaters on March 16, 2012.
