France's Academy Gives Mikros Image Technical Cesar Award
Five more technical prizes will be handed out at the upcoming Cesar Awards ceremony on Feb. 24 in Paris.
PARIS - France’s Academy of Arts and Technical Sciences gave its top technical prize to VFX house Mikros Image on Monday night at a ceremony in Paris.
Mikros topper Gilles Gaillard accepted the fifth annual Technical Cesar from the Academy’s president Alain Terzian with French technical trades organization the FICAM’s president Thierry de Segonzac, Audiens head Patrick Bezier and government film organization the CNC’s Eric Garandeau also present.
“This prize is very important for Mikros. It’s a collective effort – we are 180 people, all passionate about film and images,” Gaillard said upon accepting the award.
Five more technical prizes will be awarded at the upcoming Cesar Awards ceremony on Feb. 24 in Paris.
Founded in 1985 by Maurice Prost, Mikros Image is one of the top post-production companies in France. Mikros has a partnership with Eight VFX in Hollywood called Eight+Mikros and has worked on several notable titles including recent releases: Frederic Beigbeder’s Love Lasts 3 Years, Philippe Lefebvre’s Paris By Night and David and Stephane Foenkinos’ La Delicatesse starring Audrey Tautou.
The 37th annual Cesar Awards ceremony will take place on Feb. 24 at Paris’ Chatelet Theater.
