Francesco Gasperoni's 'Parking Lot' Thriller to Debut at Taormina Film Fest

The 3D film stars co-writer Harriet MacMasters-Green.

ROME – Francesco Gasperoni’s Parking Lot, a claustrophobic thriller set in an underground parking garage and Italy’s first feature-length 3D production, will premiere at this year’s Taormina Film Festival, event organizers said Tuesday.

The film, which stars co-writer Harriet MacMasters-Green, will screen at the festival’s 2,300-year-old Teatro Grande venue. MacMasters-Green and Italian-American director Gasperoni will also host an encounter with students on hand at the festival.

Though Parking Lot is the first-ever Italian feature film shot in 3D, it will be the second 3D production to screen in Taormina this year. The festival already announced that it would open June 11 with the Italian premiere of Kung Fu Panda 2.

The 57th edition of the Taormina event will conclude June 18.

Deborah Young, The Hollywood Reporter’s chief international film critic, is Taormina’s artistic director.
