Frank Sinatra's cool, classic style has influenced the wardrobes of many leading men, but here's a first: Sinatra's Palm Springs home served as the fashion inspiration for the suit pants in Ryan Seacrest's new color-coded men's fashion line for Macy's. Really.

"He had this house in Palm Springs and the house had great lines. When we started talking about the pants to go with the suits, I said, 'Let's make these pants have that same kind of architecture.' But [Macy's reps] said, 'That's not how we describe a pant,' " Seacrest told THR at the launch of his line, dubbed Distinction, at a Beverly Hills residence. "There was a learning curve for me in using the correct fashion vocabulary."

Seacrest has been busy on the TV side too: Ryan Seacrest Productions' scripted division recently inked a two-year overall deal at CBS TV Studios to develop projects for broadcast and cable as well as streaming services.

A version of this story first appeared in the Aug. 22 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine.
