Fred Santarpia Named Chief Digital Officer for Condé Nast Entertainment Group
The former Vevo exec is the latest hire from CNEG president Dawn Ostroff.
Dawn Ostroff, president of Condé Nast Entertainment Group (CNEG), continues to fill out her executive team.
Ostroff has tapped former Vevo executive Fred Santarpia to lead CNEG’s digital business. As executive vp and chief digital officer, Santarpia will be responsible for developing and managing CNEG’s digital channel business and video distribution strategy across all web-connected platforms and devices.
He will start in July and report to Ostroff.
“Fred was a key executive and played an instrumental role in building Vevo, one of the most successful and groundbreaking digital businesses,” Ostroff said. “His knowledge and expertise will be extraordinary assets as we build and extend our iconic brands onto various digital platforms.”
The hire comes in the wake of the April additions of former Imagine Entertainment exec Jeremy Steckler as CNEG’s executive vp motion pictures and Michael Klein, late of Sundance Channel, as executive vp alternative programming.
Ostroff, the former longtime president of The CW, was hired in October to develop television and digital content based on the Condé Nast magazine brands, which include Vanity Fair, Vogue, Glamour, Wired and The New Yorker.
At Vevo – a video music site venture operated by Sony Music Group, Universal Music Group and Abu Dhabi Media – Santarpia served as head of operations responsible for audience development and video syndication, social media and marketing strategy, revenue operations and Vevo’s original content and programming teams.
