Freedman to run ops at 'TMZ'
EmptyBryn Freedman, executive producer of A&E Network's hit series "Intervention," has come aboard the upcoming syndicated newsmagazine "TMZ" to handle day-to-day operations, sources said.
Freedman is taking a coveted position on one of the most anticipated strips of the upcoming season. The half-hour show, based on Telepictures Prods./AOL's entertainment news Web site, is being targeted to younger viewers and will feature fast-paced video segments, investigative news reports, exclusive citizen video and other elements.
In her new role on "TMZ," which sources said will see Freedman take on a co-executive producer title, she joins executive producers Harvey Levin, managing editor of TMZ.com, and Jim Paratore, founder of paraMedia Inc., who also will have a hands-on role in the show and all major decision-making.
"TMZ," which is cleared in more than 95% of the U.S. for its fall launch in syndication, is being distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution and is produced by Warners-based Telepictures, Harvey Levin Productions Inc. and paraMedia.
Telepictures declined comment Friday on the hiring of Freedman, as did her reps at Rebel Entertainment Partners.
Freedman's other credits include TLC's "Second Chance" and Discovery Channel's "On the Inside."
