FremantleMedia Appoints MD of Asian Operations
Australian Paul O'Hanlon takes up the new post.
SYDNEY -- Fremantle Media Australia executive producer, production and development, Paul O’Hanlon has been named as the new managing director for FremantleMedia Asia.
In the new role, O’Hanlon will be responsible for the business performance of FremantleMedia’s production operations in Asia, and will report to Ian Hogg, CEO, FremantleMedia Asia Pacific.
He will oversee Fremantle’s rapidly expanding slate of productions across the region which includes shows like The X Factor India and Idol in India, Thailand's Got Talent, Take Me Out in Indonesia and Project Runway Philippines.
“FremantleMedia has a thriving business in Asia with more than 45 local formats in production this year alone. Paul will oversee the current production slate as well as driving new business, creatively and commercially, across Asia. He has an intuitive understanding of the region with extensive experience and great success in both management and production, and I look forward to working with him to further enhance FremantleMedia’s industry leading presence in this vibrant region," Hogg said, announcing the appointment.
Before joining FMA in February this year O’Hanlon was programme director with Next TV in Taiwan, oversaw the entertainment based programming content for Afghanistan’s two largest free to air television networks and was senior vice president of production for StarTV in Hong Kong for five years.
O’Hanlon will relocate to Singapore to take up the post in October.
