FremantleMedia venturing out, taps Kanareck

New division to find business opportunities across brands

LONDON -- FremantleMedia has launched a ventures division to exploit new business opportunities across its brands and divisions, director of operations and strategy Christian Schneider-Sickert said Thursday.

The division will be headed by Paul Kanareck, former investment banker at NM Rothschild and former executive at Internet shopping site Boo.com, who will be charged with building "new revenue and investment opportunities across the company's global footprint and brand extension capabilities across the FremantleMedia enterprise and production businesses," the company said.

"Our success speaks for itself," Schneider-Sickert said. "But it is vital for a company such as ours to find ways to stay nimble and innovative."
