French companies line up for Latin showcase
EmptyPARIS -- Twenty-eight French distributors will be among those traveling to Rio de Janeiro for the Latin American Showcase organized by TV France International.
More than sixty buyers from Brazil, Argentina, Chili, Columbia, Ecuador, Uruguay and Mexico already have confirmed their participation in the event, which runs Dec. 11-13 at the Sofitel Hotel, TV France International said Thursday.
French distributors hope to capitalize on the growing demand in the region for French programs, which have seen their distribution increase 20% since 2005, with 38% of the total exported to Brazil.
The showcase, TV France International's first in Rio, will kick off with a co-production roundtable organized in partnership with the Association of Brazilian Producers (ABPI) and featuring reps from Arte, France 5 and the CNC.
The Showcase is organized with the support of the cultural services from both the French and Latin American embassies.
