French culture minister injured
Mitterand sustains slight injury after scooter accidentPARIS -- French culture started off 2010 on a low note with the country's Minister of Culture Frederic Mitterand hospitalized after a fall on his scooter Sunday night in Paris.
Mitterand, 62 years old, is currently being treated at the Percy-Clamard hospital for his allegedly minor injuries, and is expected to return to work soon. The accident occurred on Paris' Quai d'Orsay according to Gallic media reports, though a spokesman for the Ministry told press only that "Frederic Mitterrand fell from his scooter after it slid on black ice."
Mitterand, who was appointed to his position last June, has been in the news a great deal in France recently after he published a novel recounting his past as a sex tourist.
