Hard to believe, but the 'House of Cards' star hasn't been to a runway presentation since 1984.

Though her Claire Underwood character is known for having several sharp Armani dresses in her closet, actress Robin Wright hadn't met the designer until she sat front row at his haute couture show on Tuesday night in Paris.

"It's my first fashion show. Not ever, but 1984 was the last one I saw," she told Pret-a-Reporter backstage after the show. "I loved it. It's an art form, and he's an artist." Before the show Wright and beau Ben Foster admired the modern art on display in the Palais de Tokyo, where the show was held, joking that they were eyeing artist Eduardo Basualdo's giant metallic meteor sculpture for Wright's living room.

The show's Japanese influences were on display not only by the choice of venue, but by the obi-style bow belts on gowns with beaded bamboo branches, and jackets with flowing kimono sleeves.

Juliette Binoche declared the show "sublime." She chatted with Kristin Scott Thomas about London theater — and real estate — backstage. Both are in adaptations of ancient Sophocles plays. Scott Thomas is currently playing Electra at the Old Vic, and Binoche is set to play Antigone at the Barbican starting next month.

Still the focus was on the designer, celebrating ten years on the couture calendar. Scott Thomas isn't planning on attending any of this awards season's red carpets, but was eyeing his designs for future functions.

"I love his tailoring, and I love the softness with the masculine structure, and then he does these evening gowns that are divine," she said.

Her sartorial style is all her own, explained the actress. "I've never had a stylist, I've always just done it by myself. It never used to be considered brave, it didn't used to be a business and there didn't used to be something called a 'stylist.' That's all been invented quite recently, so it just used to be what corresponded to you," she noted. "Now it's so much more commercial, but I still just do what I want. I kinda just go with it."

As for Foster, who hummed along with the music during the show, he let Wright take the lead.

"I'm just following her tonight," he said. After the pair snapped photos with Armani himself on the empty runway, the group headed to a private dinner.
