"Instead of being free to fight for his nation, Trump was forced to stay on his college campus and slog through the swampy minefields of hotel/resort management," a voiceover in the video says, mocking the real estate mogul's lack of service in Vietnam.

Funny or Die took on Donald Trump's controversial comments about John McCain, noting that the real estate mogul and 2016 presidential candidate was also a POW: "Prisoner of Wharton," a reference to the University of Pennsylvania business school Trump attended.

Trump has come under fire for saying of McCain, who spent five and a half years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, that he "like[s] people who weren't captured" and that McCain's "a war hero because he got captured."

Trump has since said he does respect McCain but maintains he doesn't need to apologize to the Arizona senator and former presidential candidate.

Trump never fought in Vietnam, receiving multiple draft deferments, but he did attend the University of Pennsylvania's famed Wharton business school.

In a black-and-white video with a dramatic voiceover, Funny or Die mocks the "torture" Trump endured at the Ivy League school, while receiving student deferments keeping him out of Vietnam.

Comparing his plight to that of someone being captured in war, Funny or Die says, "How Donald Trump got stuck at Wharton was a mix of bad timing, bad luck and a family friend in the admissions office."

"Instead of being free to fight for his nation, Trump was forced to stay on his college campus and slog through the swampy minefields of hotel/resort management," the voiceover goes on to say. "It was torture. Trump would be forced to stay awake for 45 minutes at a time in what were called classes."

Funny or Die also mocks both Trump's tendency to call those he doesn't like "losers" or "morons" and his own career.

"It all seemed hopeless for Trump, a nadir so low it would break down a loser or a moron or some dummy who had no class," the voiceover says. "But not Trump, he is a winner and knew he would one day host a reality show, maybe run for president, but definitely host a reality show."

Funny or Die claims Trump "escaped" from Wharton by "posing as a four-year graduate after only serving two."
