'Furry' adds young actress
Skyler Samuels joins family comedyYoung newcomer Skyler Samuels has joined the cast of Summit Entertainment and Participant Media's family comedy "Furry Vengeance."
Samuels will play Amber, the romantic interest of a sarcastic city kid (Matt Prokop) whose father (Brendan Fraser) moves them to rural Oregon. There, they are forced to scrap with local wildlife irked by the intrusion.
Roger Kumble is directing the screenplay written by Michael Carnes and Josh Gilbert. Robert Simonds and Keith Goldberg are producing.
Filming is scheduled to begin July 6 for a potential July 2010 release.
Samuels, who is repped by Mosaic and the Osbrink Talent Agency, makes her feature debut in "The Stepfather," which Screen Gems will release in October. She also had a recurring role on the Disney Channel series "Wizards of Waverly Place."
