The Gambler director Rupert Wyatt has signed with UTA, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. He previously was with WME.
Last winter, the Englishman helmed Paramount's remake of the 1974 drama, with Mark Wahlberg starring in the lead role originally played by James Caan.
Wyatt also directed 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, 20th Century Fox's successful franchise reboot that grossed $483 million worldwide. He first broke out in 2008 with the crime thriller The Escapist, which he both directed and co-wrote. The film starred Brian Cox, Damian Lewis and Joseph Fiennes.
