Game of Thrones' Emun Elliott, John Hurt to Star in Labyrinth Miniseries
The four-hour adaptation of the Kate Mosse best-seller also features "Merlin's" Katie McGrathof and "Captain America’s" Sebastian Stan.
BERLIN– John Hurt has signed on to star in the three-part mini-series Labyrinth, an adventure thriller based on the best-seller by Kate Mosse.

Christopher Smith (Black Death) is directing the mini, which also stars Sebastian Stan of Captain America fame, Katie McGrath (Morgana in Syfy’s Merlin) and Emun Elliott of HBO’s Game of Thrones. Other cast members include British thesps Janet Suzman (Nicholas and Alexandria), Jessica Brown-Findlay (Downton Abbey) and Vanessa Kirby (The Hour) and Italian actress Claudia Gerini (The Passion of the Christ).
Germany’s Tandem Communications and Ridley and Tony Scott’s Scott Free Films, the team behind the multi-Emmy nominated The Pillars of the Earth, are producing Labyrinth together with Film Afrika Worldwide and in association with Universal Production Partners as a German-South Africa co-production. Tandem co-head Tim Halkin and Ridley Scott and Liza Marshall of Scott Free are executive producing.

Shooting kicks off in southern France Oct.10 before moving to South Africa.
Writer Adrian Hodges (Primeval) has adapted Mosse’s adventure story which jumps between modern and Medieval France and centres on a search for the holy grail. Delivery is set for late summer 2012.
Tandem is selling Labyrinth worldwide and will be shopping the title to channels at the MIPCOM confab next week. Germany’s Sat.1, Channel Four in the U.K., France’s M6, Spain’s Quatro and ORF in Austria have pre-bought the show, with NBC Universal Home Entertainment and Koch Media taking certain home entertainment rights.
