'Game of Thrones': Marion Barry Can Relate to Tyrion
The former D.C. mayor reveals he has a good sense of humor about his past scandals in a Twitter exchange about "Game of Thrones" Sunday night.
Former D.C. Mayor Marion Barry is not only a Game of Thrones fan, but the politician also seems to have a good sense of humor about his past scandals, not minding when a Twitter user referenced them in an exchange about the HBO show.
After tweeting, “My main man Tyrion! #GameOfThrones” during Sunday night's finale, which focused on Peter Dinklage's character Tyrion Lannister, Twitter user @kept_simple tweeted at Barry, “bitch set him up,” a reference to what Barry said when he was caught smoking crack with a former girlfriend in an FBI sting.

Barry responded with an “LOL” and the following tweet:
@kept_simple Yeah, I must admit he was indeed set up but....he lives to tell about it. LOL!— Marion S. Barry, Jr. (@marionbarryjr) June 16, 2014
@kept_simple then responded with another reference to Barry’s past, specifically the slogan for Barry’s 1992 City Council campaign, "He May Not Be Perfect, But He's Perfect for D.C.," tweeting:
@marionbarryjr Tyrion may not be perfect, but he's perfect for the Iron Throne— kept_simple (@kept_simple) June 16, 2014
Barry responded with an "LOL!" before revealing some more of his favorite TV shows and Game of Thrones characters.
Of all the characters, and there are/were many on #GameOfThrones, Tyrion is my favorite.— Marion S. Barry, Jr. (@marionbarryjr) June 16, 2014
