Gavin DeGraw Will Not Perform at Friday or Saturday Shows
UPDATED: The singer has canceled performances scheduled for Friday and Saturday as a result of his injuries.
On Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that due to DeGraw's injuries, he will be unable to perform at Friday and Saturday's shows. "He won't be performing in Wantagh, NY on August 12 or Mansfield, MA on August 13," his rep issued in a statement.
Despite being assaulted earlier this week in New York City, singer Gavin DeGraw is expected to perform on Friday.
DeGraw, who has been serving as the opening act on the first half of the Maroon 5/Train summer tour, will take the stage at Jones Beach Theater, a Live Nation rep tells The Hollywood Reporter.
The singer canceled Tuesday's performance in Saratoga Springs, New York. Train and Maroon 5 will go on as planned. According to the Saratoga Springs Performing Arts Center's website, Nikki Jean will replace DeGraw as the opener for Tuesday's show.
As of Tuesday morning, DeGraw was undergoing treatment at Bellevue Hospital after he was attacked by "marauding goons" around 4:30 a.m. on Monday on 6th Street and First Avenue. He was then hit by a taxi on 19th Street and First Avenue, though DeGraw was not seriously injured by the cab.
"Gavin DeGraw is currently recovering and in stable condition ... after he was attacked by a group of assailants. He suffers from a concussion, broken nose, black eyes, cuts and bruises. The police are conducting an investigation of the attack," his rep said in a statement on Tuesday. "Gavin and his family apprecaite everyone's concern at this time."
DeGraw performed at the Hollywood Bowl in late July with Train and Maroon 5, with THR saying "the affable signer charmed the crowd with old hits as well as new."
