Gavin DeGraw Cancels Concert After Assault
He'll be replaced by Nikki Jean Tuesday in Saratoga Springs, New York.
Gavin DeGraw won't perform Tuesday night in Saratoga Springs, New York after being brutally assaulted and hit by a cab in New York city early Monday morning.
DeGraw had been touring with Train and Maroon 5, who will go on as planned.
According to the Saratoga Springs Performing Arts Center's website, Nikki Jean will replace DeGraw, who was admitted to Bellevue Hospital with a broken nose and cuts on his face after being put upon by a gang of people in Manhattan’s East Village around 4:30 a.m Monday. He remains there in stable condition as of Tuesday morning.
"Gavin DeGraw was assaulted ... and was taken to the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital by ambulance. He is currently under observation. We have no additional information at this time," his rep said in a statement late Monday.
There is no word on whether DeGraw will rejoin the tour Friday at New York City's Jones Beach, on Long Island.
DeGraw is best known for his hit "I Don't Want to Be," which is CW drama One Tree Hill's theme song. He’ll release his forth album, Sweeter, on Sept. 20.
