Geoff Stults Inks Talent Deal With 20th TV, Books 'Ben and Kate' Arc
As part of the pact, Stults will develop a comedy vehicle to star in, which will be shopped to networks this month.
Geoff Stults is setting up shop at 20th Century Fox TV.
The studio has signed The Finder star to a talent holding deal. As part of the pact, he’ll develop a multicamera comedy with his writing and producing partner Dave Whatley. Stults is prepared to star, with Kapital Entertainment’s Aaron Kaplan (Terra Nova) attached as a producer. Twentieth TV will take the project out to networks this month; if it ultimately isn't ordered to pilot, the studio can cast him in another project.
Nearer term, Stults has nabbed a recurring role on Fox’s fall comedy Ben and Kate, as a single parent and love interest for Dakota Johnson’s Kate. His arc will begin with the show's Halloween episode, which is slated to air Oct. 30. The single-camera sibling comedy premieres Sept. 25.
"Geoff is a tall hunk of man who makes me laugh. He's the ultimate 'man's man' and 'ladies man.' Everyone wants to be at a Geoff Stults party," said 20th TV’s executive vp casting and talent Sharon Klein. "He's a big TV star who proved he can anchor a show with his dry wit on The Finder."
The news follows other talent deals that 20th TV has inked with such stars as Wilmer Valderrama and Hilary Duff.
Stults, whose other TV credits include October Road, Happy Town and 7th Heaven, is repped by UTA and Thruline Entertainment.
