German Public Broadcaster ARD Dominates German TV Award Nominations

ARD scoops 15 noms for Germany's equivalent of the Emmys, compared to eight for leading commercial network RTL.

COLOGNE, Germany - German pubweb ARD again proved the critics' darling at the nominations for the local equivalent of the Emmys, earning 15 nominations across all categories compared to eight for its nearest competitor, commercial net RTL.

No one show or series dominated this year's list. The only productions to receive multiple nominations were ARD's In Aller Stille, which received noms in the Best TV Movie and Best Actress categories (for Nina Kunzendorf), and the channel's Weissensee, which was honored with nominations for Best Series and for Best Actor Jorg Hartmann.

Only in the Best Mini-series category is there a clear winner. Berlin production house Teamworx is behind all three nominees: Pro7's Go West, RTL's Hindenburg and Der kalte Himmel for ARD. T
