Germany's Red Arrow International Names Two Exec to Replace Jens Richter
Irina Ignatiew and Henrik Pabst will jointly lead the international TV distribution outfit after Richter leaves to become CEO at FremantleMedia International.
Red Arrow International, the international TV distribution operation controlled by German broadcasting giant ProSiebenSat.1 has named a pair of executives to take over the duties of managing director Jens Richter, who will be leaving Red Arrow to become the new CEO of FremantleMedia International.
Red Arrow said Thursday that Irina Ignatiew and Henrik Pabst – both well-known and respected execs in the international TV business – will jointly run Red Arrow International, effective immediately. Both were named managing directors at Red Arrow International last year.
Ignatiew will head up global scripted distribution with Pabst overseeing global format/factual distribution at Red Arrow. Both will report to Jan Frouman, group managing director at parent company Red Arrow Entertainment Group.
Richter, a key force in setting up and expanding Red Arrow, announced in December he was leaving the company to take over FremantleMedia's international sales operations.
"It´s never easy to say goodbye to an executive as capable and accomplished as Jens Richter. He built Red Arrow International and has been with Red Arrow Entertainment Group from the start,” said Frouman. “But, to his credit, he also assembled a stellar team and enabled us to find his successors from within. Irina and Henrik are outstanding and experienced distribution professionals. Under their future leadership, the company will continue to grow and thrive.”
Red Arrow's small screen properties include ABC's cooking competition show The Taste, Netflix's Norwegian crime comedy Lilyhammer and such comedy entertainment formats as NBC's Betty White’s Off Their Rockers.
