Germany's Vox launching VOD platform

Online portal will feature 30-day catch-up TV

COLOGNE, Germany -- German cable channel Vox will launch its own VOD platform, independent of parent network RTL, for in-house and acquired programming.

The online portal -- voxnow.de -- is set to launch July 1 and will feature 30-day free catch-up TV for Vox-produced daytime formats, seven-day catch-up for German primetime shows and pay offerings for U.S. imports like "CSI: NY."

Similar to RTL's VOD platform RTLnow.de, Vox plans to charge €0.99-€1.99 ($1.40-$2.80) an episode for on-demand shows after the catch-up period.
